BEFORE ARRIVAL

Apply Single Entry Visa (SEV) for one at the nearest Malaysian Embassy or Consulate before making any travel arrangements.
Book a flight to inform CIGE about one (1) week prior to Orientation.
Make arrangements for your accommodation.
Submit your arrival and flight details using the Airport Arrival Form. Request for airport pickup 7 days before your departure, if needed.
Buy some local currency 鈥� Ringgit Malaysia, if available.

It is issued to foreign nationals who require a visa to enter Malaysia. It is valid for a single-entry and for a period of 3 months. In order to apply for SEV, you are required to submit the following documents to the nearest Malaysia Embassy/ Consulate in your home country:

Original passport
a copy of UMS offer letter
Visa Approval Letter (VAL issued by the Immigration Department of Malaysia

It consist of the following costs:

Duty stamps 鈥� RM10.00
Medical screening 鈥� RM250.00 鈥� RM280.00
Medical and health insurance RM550.00/y
Student pass and multi-entry visa RM60.00 鈥� RM100.00 (depend on your country of origin)

Medical screening comprises general health examination and several tests by a certified medical doctor including blood and urine tests. All new international students are required to do a post-arrival medical screening. You must complete your medical screening and submit your passport to the International Student Pass office within seven (7) days of your arrival for your student pass endorsement.

A special pass is a temporary pass issued by the Immigration Department of Malaysia. It is usually valid for 14-30 calendar days. If you change your faculty or transmission of study from Degree to Master, you will need to apply for at least one special pass whilst waiting for the approval of your new student pass. Each special pass costs RM100 and you will need to pay for it. The application for a special pass is subject to approval by the Immigration Department of Malaysia.

No. If you study in Sabah you will not provide i-Kad as it international student get in Peninsular Malaysia.

No, this is not permitted. International students are only permitted to study full time courses in Malaysia with a valid student pass issued by Immigration.

RENEWAL STUDENT PASS

You must apply to renew your student pass 12 weeks prior to the expiry of your current student pass

You should stay calm and listen attentively to the police officer. Seek clarification when needed. Produce your original passport, if you are asked to do so. If you have submitted your original passport to the CIGE office for processing of student pass application, you should produce the original copy of the Submission Slip and Student Card. If the police requests for further proof of identity, you should inform him/her that you are a student of 麻豆视频.

You must immediately visit CIGE office and seek advice. If you are currently in Malaysia, you have overstayed and will be subject to penalties imposed by the Immigration Department of Malaysia, which include detention and a fine.

If you are currently outside Malaysia, do not re-enter Malaysia as a tourist via a social pass. You may be required to apply for a new student pass prior to entering Malaysia.

No, you can apply for a transfer of endorsement (i.e., transferring the student pass sticker from your old passport to the new passport).

Bring your old and new passport to CIGE office. Student from China will be charged by Immigration Department RM30.00 for transferring the student pass sticker.

Officer from CIGE office will call you through phone call. Please make sure you leave your reachable contact number for passport collection.

You must lodge a report at the nearest police station within 24 hours. You need to apply for a new passport at the relevant Embassy or Consulate in Malaysia. You will be required to produce the police report.

After obtaining your new passport, you can apply for a transfer of endorsement (i.e., getting a copy of your current student pass sticker onto your new passport). Send you your new passport and copy of your police report to CIGE office.

Cancellation of Student Pass

You need to submit a cancellation of current student pass request before you leave Malaysia.

You need to visit CIGE office and provide:

Two copies of your current student pass
Two copies of your details page of passport
A copy of your departure tickets4
Original passport

Note: Immigration Department will takes up to 14 days of cancellation. Please send your application earlier.

If you plan to study within Malaysia, your new application with other university could not be processed.

Among facilities provided are library, internet and information technology, residential college, safety, sports and recreational activities, counselling service, student committee, banking, post office and cafeteria.

You may seek and bring a scholarship from your home country provided with an offer letter of sponsorship/scholarship.聽聽 schorlaships only offered to Postgraduate Students.

Transfer聽credit聽from other universities must be made within ONE (1) semester before registering the聽Transfer聽Credit聽Programme. A student must register to our university for him/her to apply for聽transfer聽credit.聽 The course applied for the聽transfer聽of聽credit聽must be equivalent to and fulfil the requirements of the course curriculum that is offered in UMS

Yes, this is a mandatory requirement under the laws and regulations of the Government of Malaysia.

No. You are not covered by insurance until you made the payment and submitted the deposit receipt to CIGE

You can first receive treatment from doctor and claim later on if you do not have the insurance card, provided student needs to have a Malaysia bank account

Yes, as long as the condition does not fall under insurance exclusion. However, for outpatient cases, student is not recommended to visit specialist.
