4th Food Science and Technology Undergraduate Colloquium 2026

The 4th Food Science and Technology Undergraduate Colloquium (FOSTUC) 2026 will be held virtually on 25–26 February 2026, from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., via the Webex online platform.

Organised collaboratively by leading public universities in Malaysia, this colloquium serves as a national platform for undergraduate students to present research findings, exchange scientific ideas, and engage in scholarly discussions within the field of Food Science and Technology.

The theme for FSTUC 2026,
“Advancing Food Security through Translational Science,”
highlights the role of applied research and innovation in addressing food security challenges and strengthening sustainable food systems.

All presenters are invited to submit their full papers for consideration in special issues of selected MyCite-indexed journals, subject to journal review processes.

This colloquium provides a valuable opportunity for undergraduate students to enhance research communication skills, foster academic collaboration, and contribute to the advancement of food science education and innovation.

The Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition, �鶹��Ƶ (UMS) extends its highest appreciation and congratulations to the faculty research team for achieving the Gold Award at the International Research and Information Science Expo (IRISE) 2026, held on 28 January 2026.

This outstanding achievement involved the participation of:

The award was received through the presentation of a research project entitled “Glucomur Functional Gel,” which highlights high-impact innovation and potential applications in the development of functional products within the field of food science.

This success reflects the faculty’s continuous commitment to strengthening research, innovation and knowledge transfer in line with the university’s aspiration towards academic excellence and globally competitive research.

The faculty hopes that this achievement will inspire academic staff and students to continue pursuing high-quality research in supporting the advancement of food science and societal well-being.

FSMP Congratulates Appointment of Deputy Dean (Research and Innovation)

The Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition (FSMP), �鶹��Ƶ (UMS), extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Sylvester Mantihal on his appointment as Deputy Dean (Research and Innovation).

The appointment is effective from 6 December 2025 until 5 December 2027.

This appointment reflects the faculty’s continued commitment to strengthening its research governance, enhancing innovation initiatives, and further positioning FSMP as a centre of excellence in food science and nutrition research.

With his academic experience, leadership capabilities, and strong engagement in research and innovation activities, Dr. Sylvester Mantihal is expected to play a key role in driving the faculty’s strategic research agenda, fostering interdisciplinary collaborations, and supporting the university’s aspiration towards impactful and sustainable innovation.
